Passed away March 13, 2018. Preceded in death by his wife Shirley, and daughter Debby Schuna; sister Beverly (Paul) Sieloff. Survived by his children Arthur (Susan) and Mary Beth Gordon and son-in-law Peter Schuna; Grandfather of Peter (Kelly) Schuna, Patrick Schuna, Arthur A. (Hannah) Beisang IV, Laura (Brandon) Richert, Matthew Gordon, Daniel (Jolene) Beisang, Nathan (Jenny) Gordon, Jessica (Julian) Tokarev. Great grandfather of Evan, Kaylyn, Gavin, Madylyn , Reese, Arthur V, Jackylyn, Armani, Henry, Isaac, William, Norah, Miles, Adrian, Audrylyn and Amelia; sister Kathleen (Carl) Bryngelson, and brother Jon (Karen) Beisang. With visual impairment since birth, Art was the definition of resilience. His positive attitude started early on earning him the nick name “Happy”. Visual impairment never stopped him from achieving. Starting his career as a ninth grade science teacher in Roseville. Many of his former students still remember their award winning science projects.
Conducting surgical research at the U of M was a springboard for his second career as an entrepreneur
starting several innovative medical companies whose products are based on dozens of his patents.
Celebration of Life, Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11AM at WAVERLY GARDENS, 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks. Gathering one hour before service. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Mahtomedi. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Feed My Starving Children or Waverly Gardens Chaplaincy Program.
