Obituary for Waldo "Wally" B. Meier

Waldo "Wally" Meier, age 92 of White Bear Lake, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 25. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida; his brothers Karl (Norma) and Frank (Dorothy) and sisters Elwina (Richard) Brown and Lucille (Hal) Whelply; daughter in law Judith (Hintermeier); nephews Emil and Hal Whelply Jr. Survived by Marian, his beloved wife of 71 years; children Kerry, Barbara (Alfred) Fricano and Wayne (Marlene). He was deeply loved by his ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His was a faithful life of service to others, joining the US Navy in the V-5 program during WWII; becoming the first instructor at the District 916 vocational school; owner of WB Meier Co., a lawn and garden shop in White Bear Lake and numerous board positions at South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church. In retirement, he was an avid reader, researching and promoting alternative healthcare options. He assisted in construction projects at his church and his home and his children's homes. He enjoyed travel to find relatives in Germany. He sang in the men's choir for over thirty years. Memorial service to be held on May 7, 2018, 11:00AM at South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church, 2480 South Shore Blvd, White Bear Lake, MN. Visitation at 10:00AM.
