Passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the age of 94. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward “Chris” Twar and her brothers Earl, Douglas (Buster) and Robert; and son Bernard Haugen. Born on June 5, 1923 in Two Harbors, Minnesota. Mary was a longtime caring employee of St. John’s Hospital and devout member of St. Pius Catholic Church. Mary will be remembered by her friends and family for her love of entertaining, spaghetti dinners and vibrant personality. Survived by sons Christopher Haugen, Gregory Haugen (Ann), Mark Haugen (Kathy). Stephen Haugen (Teresa) and Thomas Haugen Jr. (Nancy): Grandchildren Joseph, Anna, Jennifer, Eric, Daniel, Mark Jr., Marshall, Haakon, Ejnar, Brian and Heather; brother Philip DuFresne; and very close friend Claudette McCollar. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at CHURCH OF ST. PIUS X, 3878 Highland Avenue, White Bear Lake. Visitation Tuesday(TODAY) 5-7 PM at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 East County Road E., White Bear Lake and will also be 1 hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Mahtomedi. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in Mary’s honor at Neighbor Helping Neighbor at St. Stephen’s Church.
