Obituary for Harry Gerald Nelson

Harry Gerald “Jerry” Nelson of White Bear Lake, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2015. Jerry was a retired Lt. Col. In the USAF, as well as a retired elementary school teacher in the White Bear Lake Area School District. He was an avid amateur astronomer, and a lover of the natural world and all of its creatures. His teachings, generosity, compassion, and wit will be truly missed. Preceded in death by parents Harry and Evelyn Nelson, wife Mary Lynn, and brother Dean. Survived by daughter Leslee (Bart) Miller, son Scott (Heather), son Brad (Chris); and beloved grandchildren Lindsey, Joshua, Maryella, Jacob, and Kellen. Visitation on Wednesday, February 11th from 9:30-10:30 AM at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME 2460 East County Road E, WBL, with funeral service at 10:30 AM. Internment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Animal Humane Society of St. Paul.
