Falling pie

Frank and Betty on ther travels across America would stop in San Diego area every few years. Christine and I would drive to a campground they were staying at.On there previous visit Betty talked about her "shoe fly pie" and asked if we had ever tasted this? We had'nt ever heard of this pie! Well it was waiting for us this visit. All of us settled in the motorhome for pie.Very routine to say the least. Frank raised the leaf of the table and Betty placed the pie down. Unfortunitly the table leaf went down and the pie followed. Frank looks at Betty and says" Betty what are you doing"? Betty being the good wife that she is apologised for the accident!!!! Not her fault of course. As it often happens men like to blame others if something goes wrong! But this story has a happy ending. The pie was saved, face was saved and we enjoyed a laugh as well as the ooey, gooey awazingly sweet shoe fly pie.I remember this event, like it was yesterday! Fairwell Frank.
