Passed into heaven surrounded by his loving family on February 14, 2016. He began life in Singapore on Dec. 26, 1936. His dedication to the Catholic Church brought him to India and the Philippines, where he met and married his wife, Josefina Santos in 1971. They spent time in Manila, Singapore, San Francisco and Chicago before settling in Cambridge, MN. Richard was a caring and dedicated man, who spent his career as an educator and training manager for the MN DHS. He served as a Human Rights Commissioner, a board chair for the American Red Cross, and remained active in the Church his whole life. He is survived by his wife, Josefina Colond; son, Jay (Amy Boese); grandchildren, Juno, Rhea, Izzy; sister, Shanta (Anthony) Louis; brother, Vivien (Rosie); sister-in- law Jesusa (Keith) Williams. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, Feb. 18, 11:30 AM at Church of St. Agnes, 535 Thomas Ave. W, St. Paul. Visitation Thursday, 9-11 AM at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 E. Cty. Rd E, WBL.
