Shirley Jane Zafke (nee Ruhnau)
Age 92 of White Bear Lake and Naples FL.
Passed away quietly at the Waters of White Bear Lake.
Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Donald P.; parents, Dorothy and Louis G. Hertl; and all the many pets she took in and cared for over the years.
A lifelong resident of the area, she and Don built one of the first homes in Pine Tree Hills, Dellwood, they were there for 50 years before moving just a few miles to their townhome in WBL and splitting their time in Naples.
Survived by children, Candice (Phil) Morrison, Steven (Deborah), and Scott; grandchildren, Brett Walen, Cory (Jill), Casey (Jenny) and great- grandchildren, Tatum, Tegan, Ryan, Noah and Lainy.
We wish to express our sincere gratitude to “Home Instead” senior home care, “Volunteers of America MN” for their care management, The Waters of White Bear Lake and Adobe Hospice for all the loving care they gave.
We also extend our thanks to all the friends, neighbors, and professional advisors who without, would have made this time much more difficult.
Funeral Service 1 PM Friday, Sept. 1,2017 at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 E County Road E, WBL. Visitation 1 hour before service. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Dementia Society of America or Alzheimer’s Association.
