Long time resident of St Paul, Jean was born July 15, 1923 in St Louis, MO to Frances McDermott and Fred Martin. Jean was married to Guy W. Haynes June 4, 1945. The couple moved between various army bases, and afterwards lived in St Louis, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota while raising four children. In later years they moved to Wisconsin, California, Texas and back to Minnesota. Jean sold furniture for many years at Donaldson’s in Minneapolis, and Robinson’s in Southern California.
In her retirement Jean took up a new hobby with computers and mobile devices and was quite addicted to Angry Birds and FaceTime. Family always came first for Jean and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Guy. Survived by children Nancy (Lorimer) Nicoll of Milwaukee, WI; Susan (Patrick) Behar of Paris, France; Harry (Jeanne) Haynes of Keokuk, IA; Marilyn (Michael) McReynolds of White Bear Township, MN; Grandchildren Alison (Greg) Christy, Andrew & Alex (Gayle) Nicoll; Marc, Ian & Meghan Behar; Guy C. Haynes; Charlotte McReynolds & Molly (Jeff) Gapp; Great-grandchildren Melody, Serena, Lyta, Trevyn, Roman & Elise; Great-great-grandchildren Len & Rory.
Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, August 24, 2018.
