Passed away peacefully surrounded by her
loving family on July 24, 2018
Born in Cleveland, OH on April 10, 1937 to Ralph and Zita Ferrell, and was the oldest of 9 children. She raised 6 children in White Bear Lake, MN, whom she cherished as her greatest blessings. Joan was a dedicated registered nurse for 26 years. She loved gardening and crocheting beautiful blankets for family and friends. Joan was a faithful and active parishioner in the St. Pius X community, where she founded and lead a support group for divorced and single Catholics. Preceded in death by her sister, Marion Ferrell. Survived by children Jeff (Jean), Tom (Katherine), Jennifer (Ted) Hewes, Greg (Kris), John (Colleen), Julie (John) Anderson; 19 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; siblings Eileen "Mickey" Schmitzer, Lucie (John Benson) Ferrell, Laurie Carr, Jim (Mary) Ferrell, Peggy (Dwight) Peck, Mark Ferrell, Judy (James Harmon) Ferrell; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Saturday, July 28th at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3878 Highland Ave., WBL. Visitation starting at 10 AM.
