Preceded in death by wife, Jacquelyn; parents Ernest and Martha, sisters, Melanie Maddox and Margaret Brown, brothers, Walter, Ernest, Herman, Franz, Fritz, and Robert. Survived by children Joe (Lisa) and Meg (Ken) Spangler; grandchildren Kathryn and Joey. Carl served in the U.S. Navy on a ship during WWII. He married Jackie Cliff on Valentine's Day, 1954. He was the President of Lakewood Community College and worked in the State Community College System for over 20 years. Carl was an avid baseball fan (and a player). He loved his family and spent as much time with his grandchildren as he could. Memorial Service 11 AM Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3770 Bellaire Avenue, WBL. Visitation 1 hour before service at church. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Mahtomedi. Memorials preferred Century College Foundation.
