Obituary for Cyril John Zweber

Zweber, Cyril J. "Cy" 96 Years Old Born July 26, 1912 in New Leipzig, North Dakota. Died May 12, 2009. Preceded in death by parents John Peter and Magdelen Zweber, three brothers, Fr. Raymond Zweber, Maurice P. Zweber and Norbert H. Zweber, and two sisters, Sr. Helen Beatrice, MM, and Sr. Florence Zweber, OSF. He is survived by his wife, Pauline of 63 years, and three children, Richard of Centreville, VA, Robert (Patricia) of Milwaukee, WI, Mary Beata (Roger) of Stillwater, MN, two grandsons, Bert (Jenny) Milwaukee, WI and Perry (Jaime) Seattle, WA. and one great-granddaughter, Roxie. He is also survived by sisters, Sr. Aimee, OSF of Rochester, MN, Sr. Agnes Therese, Carmelite of Grand Rapids, MI Estelle Braun, Fresno, CA, brothers Dr. Aelred (Marion) Seattle, WA, Claude (Mary), Hastings, MN, and one sister-in-law Elizabeth Zweber of Hastings, MN. Cy graduated from the College of Pharmacy at North Dakota State University in 1933 where he was a member of the Rho Chi Society. He owned and operated a hospital pharmacy in Farmington, MN. During World War II he served three years in the U.S. Navy as a Chemical Warfare Specialist. He was later assigned to the U.S. Public Health Service in San Juan Puerto Rico. After World War II he again owned and operated a Walgreen Agency Drug Store in Rice Lake, WI. In 1960, he and his family moved to White Bear Lake, MN where he worked for the Walgreen Company as a registered pharmacist until his retirement in 1977. He has been a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for 49 years. He was for many years a member of the Knights of Columbus. Funeral Mass will be held at ST. PIUS X CHURCH, 3878 Highland Ave. White Bear Lake on Saturday May 16 at 10:30am. Visitation will be on Friday May 15 from 4 to 8:00 p.m. at the HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 Co. Rd E East in White Bear Lake and one hour before Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred by the family.
