Passed away peacefully while surrounded by her children and grandchildren at her daughter’s home in Lino Lakes, on Sunday Evening, March 28, 2021.
The daughter of Doris (Luckman) and Alf Steen, Adella was born April 29, 1936 in Roseville Township, Grant County, MN. Adella had a special baptism with two of her cousins Elizabeth Helland and Solveig Steen in Sioux Falls, SD. She was confirmed and also united in marriage by Rev. Ivar Sandberg to Donald W. Blakesley at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple farmed for a short time before relocating to Willernie, MN. They were members of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi and raised four children before their divorce.
She was best friend and companion to Robert McCarty of White Bear Lake for 14 years before his sudden passing in 2001. She married Raymond Kaczmarek of White Bear Lake in 2003, they devoted 17 years to each other before he passed peacefully in 2020.
Employed by Pine Point, Nursing Home in Washington County and White Bear Lake Care Center (Cerenity). She retired in 1998 after 30 years in the caregiving field. She continued her gift of compassion in her remaining years supporting members of her family through the joys and challenges of their lives. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by husband Ray Kaczmarek; partner Bob McCarty; 1st husband and father of her 4 children Don Blakesley; parents Doris & Alf Steen; daughter in law Kandy Cebelak-Blakesley; grandchildren Brooks & Tanner.
She is survived by two sons Jeff Blakesley, Maplewood, Jerry (Wella) Blakesley, Pine Springs; two daughter’s Jennifer (Keith) Hembre, Lino Lakes, Julia (Alan) Ebbert, New Richmond, WI; two bonus daughter’s Sandi (Jeff) Jacobs, Henderson, NV, Sandy (Brian) Girard, Mound; 11 grandchildren Kara Blakesley, Matthew (fiancé Katherine Norton) Lohr, Jaimie (Parker) Smith, Ethan Lohr, Riley Ebbert, Elijah, Delaney, Anna, James, Bryce & Mason; 5 great grandchildren Louise Reed, Francess, Rowen, Archer & Indy; sister Claire (Greg Marolt) Steen, Brainerd; nephew Barry (Ashlee Chambers) Marolt, Maple Grove; niece Stephanie (Nate Morris) Marolt, Minnetonka; 3 great nieces Ellie, Lucy & Zoe; 2 great nephews Haydn & Brenin; and a special puppy “Grace”.
Memorial Service will be at 12 noon on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME 2460 East County Road E, White Bear Lake, MN. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00–12:00 PM, (A boxed lunch will be served). Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Mahtomedi, MN.
