John "Jack" Roy

Died peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family, on Wednesday, December 30. John was born on April 18th, 1937 in Superior, WI to Harold and Katherine Evered and was the middle child of 5 siblings. He graduated from Superior Cathedral High School in 1955 and enlisted in the Air Force and served until 1959. Upon returning from the service, he attended University of Minnesota and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree. John married his high school sweetheart, Frances Elizabeth Sajec on November 28th, 1959. He worked for Sperry Univac/UNISYS at many locations across the US before retiring on March 27th 1997, with 37+ years. He spent his retirement enjoying the lake home he and Fran built in Hayward WI, fishing trips into Canada, playing cards with close friends and family and spending quality time with his (7) grandchildren. John and Fran were fortunate to spend over 61 years together. They were blessed with three children. Family was the most important thing to Jack and he nurtured unique relationships with each of his kids and grandkids. He was the most loving husband, father, and grandfather imaginable. He was a positive role model for his family and friends. He impacted many lives with his life of integrity, charming character and extraordinary memory of the smallest details.
John is survived by his wife, Frances; children Susan (Scott) Finberg, of Stillwater, MN. Linda (Scott) Koehler, of Katy, TX and John (Roxanne Johnson) Evered of Hammond, WI, grandchildren Samantha, Scotty, Skyler, Nicholas, Shelby, Nicolle, Parker and Alexandra.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3878 Highland Ave, WBL. Visitation 9-10 AM , Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 East County Road E, WBL. Interment Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Mahtomedi.
