Patricia Ann Hartz-Johnson (Pat)

Age 69 of Mahatomedi. Mother, GrandMother, and Sister. Passed away April 11, 2021.

She loved her family fiercely, and enjoyed nothing more than gathering her family together as a whole. She had a love for Lake Superior, having spent much of her youth in Duluth, Minnesota. She moved to the Twin Cities area in her teens, and later raised two sons as a single mother, who will miss her dearly. She touched so many lives, and while all who met her lost a part of themselves at her death, she left a greater part of herself with them all.

Pat is survived by her children Joshua (Julie Ross) Namie, Tyler (Audra) Johnson; sister Karen Morales; and grandchildren, Rayden Ross, Savannah Namie, Lorelei Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Levi Johnson, Noah Johnson, Willa Johnson, Luke Johnson, and Charlotte Johnson; along with her loved nieces and nephews; also her very dear friends Gail (David) Blustin, Jamie (Marvin) Taylor.

Pat was preceded in death by parents, Gordon (Edeth) Hartz, and Vivian (Walter) Welander; brothers: Kenneth (Ruth) Hartz, Dennis Hartz, Curtiss Hartz, and James Hartz; and her sister Sharrie Hartz.

Services will be held at the Honsa Family Funeral Home in White Bear Lake. Visitation from 10am to 11am, service to start promptly at 11am with interment to follow in Rush City, Minnesota

Dear Josh & Tyler,
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother and my aunt. She was so proud of her boys & their families. When I think of her I will always see her smiling with those dimples when she spoke of you & your families.
I have a memory of her to share. When I was about 10 years old we were going horseback riding & I was excited to go but once we got there & I saw how big the horses were I was not so sure. Aunt Patty challenged me by telling me she would give me .50 (remember this over 50 years ago when .50 would buy you 10 full size candy bars) if I would get on the horse. That did it, she gave me .50 & I got on the horse & have that as a cherished childhood memory.
I was looking at the last text with my aunt Patty & it was Thanksgiving 2020. This is something she wrote that is worth remembering every day. “I’m surely thankful for all we are blessed with. I’m thankful for my family those who are near, and those who are far away…I pray for good health and goodness for everyone…Enjoy each other, and take care of each other.”
I’m blessed to have had your mother as my aunt as you were blessed to have had her as your mother. I will miss her and intend to take the words from her last text to me to heart.
May God bless you & your families,
Aunt Patty’s oldest niece Debbie Buildt
