Michael Allen Jones, 62 of White Bear Lake passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2021. Preceded in death by his parents Shirley Faust, Robert Lloyd Jones, Jr. and stepmother Jan, and brother-in-law Robert Blum (Plano, Texas).
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 17 from 1-4 p.m. at Honsa Funeral Home. Friends and family are welcome to share memories of Mike from 3-4 p.m..
Mike was born on September 24, 1958, the second of 3 children, in St. Paul and attended Tartan High School, graduating in 1976. Following graduation, Mike took a job at Target and worked his way to a management position. Little did he know that he was going to meet his dream girl and future wife, Deb, while working at Target. Mike and Deb married in 1985 and have two children Evan (Washington, D.C) and Caitlin (Minneapolis).
Mike recently retired from his Operations Management position at Simon Premium Outlets and was digging into his “honey do” list. He was looking forward to being vaccinated so he could travel with his wife and daughter to visit his son in D.C. Mike loved to watch hockey, especially with his daughter. He particularly enjoyed this past spring when he was finally able to watch the MN High School tourneys, college tourneys and the Wild over back-to-back weekends, luxuriating in his newly retired status.
He never had a negative word to say and went out of his way to give a helping hand or lend an ear for an afternoon. If you asked him where he got a sweatshirt or lawn care tool, the next time he saw you, he’d have a new one just for you. Mike took great pride in cultivating life-long relationships with high school buddies, neighbors, and his colleagues, whom he enjoyed mentoring and leading.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Debbie, children Evan and Caitlin; siblings Candy (Ron) Willenbring and Sherry (Joe) Cavallaro; in-laws Robert and Patricia Perkins, Cindy (Paul) Blum-Winters, Mike (Gretchen) Perkins, Kathy (Mark) Greene; niece Crystal (Dan) Hoefs; nephews Rob Hansen, Mario (Emily) Cavallaro, Justin (Agnes) Blum, Ryan (Julie) Blum, Jeff Perkins, John Perkins, Sean Daugherty; and many life-long friends and colleagues.
