Cleorie Catherine Johnson

March 9th 1932 – July 24th 2021

Cleorie Johnson, age 89, passed away peacefully in her home on July 24th. She is survived by her children Louise, Renee, Mark, Robert (Michele), Rita, and Steve (Cathy) along with her grandchildren Ryan, Tina (Aaron) Robert, Marie, and Dennis and her 2 great grandchildren Declan and Kellan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A Johnson, and her parents Robert and Dorothy (Kehr) Webber and sisters, Lorraine Robinson and Roberta Pastorius. She was born and raised in St. Paul, MN, and graduated from St. Agnes High School.

Ray and Cleorie met in Drum and Bugle Corp for St. Paul Companies and married shortly after in St. Paul. They loved each other very much and enjoyed celebrating every occasion they could! They were blessed with 55 wonderful years together. They raised six children in Minnesota and Cleveland, OH. Their Catholic faith was a constant presence and central to the family.

Cleorie will be greatly missed by her family, which was her greatest treasure here on earth. She loved to be in the middle of the gatherings to share stories and laughter. Her family brought her great joy and comfort. She was generous with her time, talents, and treasure and would eagerly look forward to visiting with friends and family. Her love of baking was enjoyed by everyone, and she would always make each child’s favorite for Christmas!

Reading was a great passion of Cleorie’s and she would share the stories that made her laugh or think about a situation differently. Her beautiful cross stitch work will be enjoyed by her family for years to come. It brought her an immense amount of pleasure to start, create, and finish a piece for each specific person in her life. The work always reflected a place in her heart.

The family will receive friends and family at St. Odilia in Shoreview, MN from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. The funeral mass service will begin at 10:30 with burial immediately after for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America or a hospice care of your choosing.
