Harnisch, Nancy
Age 88, of White Bear Lake
Passed away peacefully December 19, 2022
Nancy grew up in St. Paul, graduating from Murray High School in 1952. In July 1954 she married Meldean (Mel) Harnisch at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (St. Paul’s UCC). In the early 1960’s Mel and Nancy moved to White Bear Lake where they raised their family.
Nancy was a stay at home mom. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, baking, needlecraft, writing and volunteering (Girl Scouts of America, Store to Door, St. Paul’s UCC, and the Spooner Nursing Home). In her mid 50’s, while living amid a dense forest of birch and pine trees on a Wisconsin lake, Nancy took a writing course from the Institute of Children’s Literature. She was proud of her accomplishments of having one puzzle, three poems and a 1,000 word story published. Nancy was a quiet woman who liked to listen more than talk. She enjoyed sharing a good joke whenever possible.
Preceded in death by husband Meldean in 2021.
Survived by her 3 children Diane Johnston, Sharon (Todd) Krueger, & Brian Harnisch; 8 grandchildren, Brian (Danielle) Johnston, Michael Johnston, Claire Johnston, Randy (Mindy) Krueger, Kyle (Bailey) Krueger, Kevin (Hannah) Krueger, Brian Harnisch, and Tyler Harnisch; 3 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.
